Leanna contacted me early evening on July 2nd with a text that said "are you ready, midwife on her way, we are 2 min apart" I arrived a bit after 8pm to Leanna & Greg's home. I could hear Leanna crying and in full force labor from the bathroom. I heard her say through her tears "Trish is here?, I told you I wanted Trish here" I won't lie, that made my heart smile just a little :)
A few minutes later she made her way from the bathroom to the birthing tub set up in the living room. The midwife and assistant were working all around her getting everything ready. Encouraging words were spoken through the hard contractions, cold rags, essential oils defused into the air, & ice chips, were just a few things to keep her as comfortable as possible. Greg...her husband, her rock, right by her side with his loving supportive arms wrapped all around her. There were moments shared as if it were just the two of them in the room. I will never forget hearing her say "Greg, this hurts, I can't do this" and Greg ensuring her "Yes you can, Jaycee is right there." God's love filled this room and we were all about to witness one of his greatest gifts.
With Leanna & Greg's permission, I am sharing with you a few images of this amazing birth story. This little 6lb 11oz girl I will forever hold dear to my heart! This is the birth of Jaycee Faith.
